Hello!
I think I've said before that I've been listening to a lot of Cabin Pressure lately. For those of you who don't know what Cabin Pressure is, it's a radio sitcom about the crew of an aeroplane. I can't call it an airplane, because it's British, and "airplane" just sounds wrong.
Anyway, I noticed that they eat a lot of delicious food, and the food that isn't delicious is at least highly entertaining to listen to them not eat. So I've decided, one day I'm going to write a Cabin Pressure Cookbook so I can try all the delicious and non-delicious food that they eat.
I started writing it in class today, because class was boring, and so far I've got a pretty nice Table of Contents. Here it is for your approval:
Main Courses
Goose Smoothie
Orange Platter
Soggy Brown Thing
Bowl of Grey
Surprising Rice
Italian Burger Thing
Quiche
Air-Conditioned Chicken-Turkey
Beverages
Nail Varnish
Mulled Wine (made with regular wine, add sugar, fruit juice, orange tic-tacs, heat in the microwave)
Snacks
Cashew Nuts with Broken Glass
Fizzy Yogurt
Every Kind of Cheese on the Planet
Deserts
Strudel
Raspberry Cheesecake
Fish Cake
Bowl of Muck (cake made by mixing crushed cookies with chocolate mouse, then putting it in a bowl over the toaster to cook, then adding powdered milk to make it less runny)
Toblerones
Christmas Pudding (raisins with custard cream crumbs and coffee creamer)
Cat Popsicle
I just finished season 3, and have at least one more season to go, so there'll probably be a lot more.
I was thinking about the Goose Smoothie in class today, and I think it might be all right if you put some goose in the blender with some chicken stock and boiled potatoes. It wouldn't really work as a smoothie though, cause it probably wouldn't be good cold.
The Bowl of Muck I can see being all right if all you do is sprinkle the cookie crumbs on top of the chocolate mousse.
For those of you who are Cabin Pressure fans, I should add
Nice Hot Cup of Coffee
Travelling Lemonade
Apple Juice
and I'll hide lemons and yellow cars and otters around the book.
I'm sure I'm missing something. Oh, drat! that means I'll have to listen to seasons 1-3 all over again. Not that I wasn't going to anyway, and not that I haven't already five or six times, because it's BRILLIANT and it tickles me pink.
